[5] This in my view is a reasonable quantum of costs taking into account the importance and complexity of the issues at trial. It is to be regretted that the respondent did not have the benefit of counsel at trial. If he had some trial time might have been unnecessary. The respondent’s position on some issues, in particular his liability for spousal support I found to be unrealistic. The applicant, however, should not bear financial responsibility for the respondent’s decision to proceed without the benefit of counsel.
