Courts of Justice Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. C.43

38 (1) A provincial judge has the power and authority of two or more justices of the peace when sitting in the Ontario Court of Justice and shall exercise the powers and perform the duties that any Act of the Parliament of Canada confers on a provincial court judge when sitting in the Ontario Court of Justice. R.S.O. 1990, c. C.43, s. 38 (1); 1996, c. 25, s. 9 (18).

Provincial offences and family matters (2) The Ontario Court of Justice shall perform any function assigned to it by or under the Provincial Offences Act, the Family Law Act, the Children’s Law Reform Act, the Child, Youth and Family Services Act, 2017 or any other Act. R.S.O. 1990, c. C.43, s. 38 (2); 1996, c. 25, s. 9 (18); 2017, c. 14, Sched. 4, s. 10 (3).

Youth court and youth justice court (3) The Ontario Court of Justice is a youth court for the purposes of the Young Offenders Act (Canada) and a youth justice court for the purposes of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (Canada). 2006, c. 19, Sched. D, s. 5 (1).
